Schedule a Private Party

Book a private party at Urban Art Co-op!

Urban Art Co-op offers three different kinds of private events. These events can be scheduled on Saturdays after the open studio hours are done. The offerings for the events depend on the number of people, and volunteer availability.

Corporate Party Package: The event is designed for larger groups of people to experience a unique art form not offered anywhere else. Great for team building, corporate celebrations, large birthday parties for adults, and social group events.

  • Wheel: Guests have the opportunity to try the potter’s wheel. They will get instruction from an experienced potter and be walked through the basic steps of throwing a vessel on the potter’s wheel. Note: Guests will not be keeping anything they make on the wheel. This is purely for the experience.
  • Raku: Guests have the opportunity to participate in a Raku firing. Raku is a Japanese firing technique that produces beautiful decorative pieces with bright, metallic colors. Guests will paint specially prepared pieces with Raku glazes, and then watch while trained UAC volunteers fire their pieces. Raku pieces will be ready to take home at the end of the party. Note: Raku pieces are not food safe. They are for decoration only. Pieces might include: wall hangings, small trays, vases, or pendants.
  • Minimum 20 guests.
  • Maximum 40
  • Saturday evenings, 6 – 9PM or 7 – 10PM.
  • The price is $40/person
  • Deposit $150 to reserve your date.
  • Guests are welcome to bring their own food and drink. An area of our studio will be set aside for food.
  • Guests are advised to wear easily washable clothes and minimal jewelry, as they will probably be getting a bit messy.

IMG_3787Birthday Party: This event is designed to be a fun and exciting event for children and their families. We welcome children 6 years and older. This package is perfect for birthday parties, family night out, youth group events.

  • Wheel: Guests have the opportunity to try the potter’s wheel. They will get instruction from an experienced potter and be walked through the basic steps of throwing a vessel on the potter’s wheel. Note: Guests will not be keeping anything they make on the wheel. This is purely for the experience.
  • Glaze: Guests will paint specially prepared pieces with vibrant glazes. These will be sealed with a clean glaze, and fired in our electric kilns. Fired pieces can be picked up at our studio 2 weeks after the party. Pieces might include mugs, stemless wine glasses, small bowls. Finished pieces are food safe.
  • The price is $40/person
  • We welcome children 6 years and older.
  • For a party of children under the age of 10, we require 1 adult chaperone for every 4 children. Chaperone need not pay unless they wish to participate in the pottery activities.
  • Guests are welcome to bring their own food and drink. An area of our studio will be set aside for food.
  • Guests are advised to wear easily washable clothes and minimal jewelry, as they will probably be getting a bit messy.
  • Minimum 6
  • Maximum 12
  • Deposit $75 to reserve your date.
  • Birthday Parties are scheduled on Saturday afternoons from 2:30 – 5:30

Private Party: This package is designed for small adult parties. Perfect for date night, ladies night out, or any group of friends looking to try something creative and new.

  • Wheel: Guests have the opportunity to try the potter’s wheel. They will get instruction from an experienced potter and be walked through the basic steps of throwing a vessel on the potter’s wheel. Note: Guests will not be keeping anything they make on the wheel. This is purely for the experience.IMG_4029
